Coffee better than Veggies?
Several studies have surfaced over last decade showing the benefits of drinking coffee, ranging from reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s Disease to decreasing the incidence of viral infections. One of the main reasons is that coffee is one of the most antioxidant-rich foods most people consume. Antioxidants play a key role in both preventing both the causes and consequences of disease .

A study out of the University of Oslo found coffee to be the largest contributor to antioxidant defense. Fruits, tea, vegetables, and wine were a distant second so make sure you’re getting in your daily cup…or 3 or 4.

  1. Research has actually shown coffee to have more antioxidant power due to different compounds than green tea (or any other beverage). However, the body needs an array of antioxidants so best course of action would be to use both in moderation (i.e. coffee in AM and green tea later in the day).

    Cheers, Phil
