After struggling with injuries throughout the 2012 season, the Colorado Rockies were looking for a solution to better address players’ health that could be utilized with every affiliate, including in the Dominican Republic. The front office was looking for a practical assessment that their performance staff could do frequently so they could track all their athlete’s development throughout the season and off-season in one central location. In November 2012, SpartaTrac was chosen for its precision and simplicity, and subsequently implemented throughout the organization from the Dominican Republic through the Major Leagues.
A secure and customized website was built out to fit the Rockies’ specific needs. Throughout the season, the Rockies staff transport the force plate to all the affiliates, monitoring athletes’ Movement Signatures™ and adjusting programs based on this objective feedback. By scanning multiple times during the season, the performance staff is able to see what changes need to be made based on their programming philosophy. Furthermore, they are able to track the Movement Signatures™ next to other metrics within the software such as workouts, regeneration habits, game stats, Trackman, and injuries.
