Sparta Scan
The Sparta Scan™ identifies injury risk and provides performance improvement recommendations by leveraging the Sparta database of over 10,000 athletes. The assessment is a series of standardized vertical jumps that produces a unique Movement Signature™, simplified into three key variables; Load, Explode and Drive. Each Movement Signature is instantly compared to the database of over 400,000 scans to provide unique insights into injury risk, strengths and weaknesses of the individual.
Movement Signature
  • LOAD™ is the first phase measured and represents an athlete’s ability to generate force.
  • EXPLODE™ is the transitional stage and measures an athlete’s ability to transfer force.
  • DRIVE™ is a product of force and time. It represents an athlete’s ability to finish movements smoothly.
Balance Assessments
The Balance Scans assess an individual’s static stability on the Left and Right sides of both the upper and lower body. This quickly tells you if an individual is at an increased risk of re-injury or physically able to progress in rehabilitation.

The Lower Body Balance Scan is done barefoot and blindfolded before stepping onto a force plate and the Upper Body Balance Scan is done in a plank position. Two, 20-second balance trials are collected on both sides, alternating between
Static Stability - Left & Right
Balance scores are presented for both the Left and Right sides of the body. A score below 48 indicates increased risk of suffering an injury due to static instability. Scores are based on the individual’s performance compared to the database. A score of 50 is average.
Landing Assessments
The Landing Scan measures how well an individual can control their body during a single leg landing. It incorporates dynamic movement once an individual has progressed beyond static stabilization in a rehab program.

Starting with both feet off of the force plate, the individual will leap with one foot landing on the opposite foot. The goal is to stabilize as quickly as possible with as much force as tolerated. Repeat with trials on both the Left and Right sides, alternating between.
Dynamic Stability - Left & Right
Balance scores are presented for both the Left and Right sides of the body. A score below 45 indicates increased risk of suffering an injury due to dynamic instability. Scores are based on the individual’s performance compared to the database. A score of 50 is average.
