When a great team loses through complacency, it will constantly search for new and more intricate explanations to explain away defeat.

It’s no secret that we love vertical jump. As part of the force plate Sparta Scan™ we use a series of vertical jumps to asses and monitor our athletes at here at Sparta, as well as help our professional, collegiate and international partners do the same. Vertical jump is relevant, valid, and repeatable. The data we collect and the resultant Sparta Signature has given us insight into how athlete should be trained, injury prevention and recovery, as well as helped to give global view of an athletes’ stress load.

In our ongoing effort to validate the reliability and validity of vertical jump we have published a study evaluating the influence familiarisation and competitive level may have when using vertical jump when monitoring athletes. You can download and read the entire study HERE.

We believe that being critical of the modalities we use on a daily basis is the most important service we can provide to our athletes. Constantly challenge and refine your own methods to be sure your athletes are getting what they need.
