St. Louis Cardinals veteran utility infielder Daniel Descalso has been training at Sparta for the past 5 years. Over that time he has filled many roles for the team, playing every infield position, starting and coming off the bench to pinch hit. Staying healthy and being available to play has been a big pat of why Descalso has been an integral part of the Cardinals’ World Series trips in 2011 and 2013. From a training standpoint we have to make sure that he is quick enough to play in the infield, but rotational enough that he has success at the plate.
