Too Much Information

In Jonah Lehrer’s book, “How We Decide”, he outlines a study on MIT business students that were split into 2 groups after selecting a portfolio of stocks. One group could only see price changes, while the other was bombarded with a steady stream of info from CNBC, Wall Street Journal, etc. The first group earned twice as much, indicating this extra news and information was distracting.

As coaches, trainers, and athletes, are we being bombarded with so much information and options that we we have forgotten the basics?
