VIDEO: Return to Play Athletes

May 9, 2016

Struggling from an injury as an athlete is both physically and emotionally challenging. At Sparta, we see a lot of injured athletes who are driven to return to their sport as soon as physically possible. Time based recovery has become the norm for injury protocol, but lacks individualization and is unrealistic when working with athletes. Rather than time, we use objective measures to determine where each athlete is at in the recovery process; ones ability to stabilize statically (lower and upper body) as well as dynamically (adding movement). Watch our video on Return to Play to see the 3 assessments we use to measure athletes instabilities and how we use each as a baseline for injury prevention and protocol.
